마늘쫑 Maneul jjong | Garlic stems-garlic scapes
Korean maneul jjong is referred to as garlic scapes in the west. It is the stem that grows between the garlic bulb and the flower.
Maneul jjong can be used in stir fries, soups, and assorted banchan dishes. They may also be pickled or used in a style of kimchi.
In the United States and Canada garlic scapes can be found in many Asian markets and some farmers markets.
