적 Jeok | Assorted food Skewers


Jeok is a method of presenting different food items together on a skewer, similar to kebabs, or meats on a stick. Some form of meat or fish with different plant based items placed on skewers and grilled is the most common, but Jeok may also be braised or fried.
Some common versions include mushrooms and beef, onions and beef, pork belly with onions and leeks, tteok and beef,

Some Types of Jeok:
두릅(산)적 Dureupjeok / dureup-sanjeok: Blanched Angelica tree shoots and beef slices marinated in a seasoned soy sauce and skewered. The brochettes are coated in flour, dipped in egg, and pan-fried.
산적 Sanjeok:  Beef and Vegetable skewers, grilled.
사슬(어산)적 Saseuljeok / saseul-eosanjeok:  Pan-fried skewers of marinated beef and fish.
떡산적 Tteok-Sanjeok | Brochette of Rice Cake (Tteok) with Beef: Grilled skewers of tteok (rice cake) and beef.
